First of all, allow me to say welcome to Indonesia. It is an honour for Indonesia to receive Your Excellency. And, I was informed that this is Your Excellency’s first overseas state visit. And, I pay a great attention to the friendship between Indonesia and Timor Leste. A future-oriented friendship for the welfare of the two peoples.

And, under Your Excellency’s leadership, I believe our relation will be even stronger.  And, I congratulate the Government and people of Timor Leste for the successful National Parliamentary Election held in last May. And, Indonesia is committed to continuously improving cooperation with Timor Leste in various fields and remains as a trusted partner for the country’s development.  A peaceful, stable, and developed Timor Leste is our common intention.

I also want to convey my gratitude to Timor Leste for the support for the nomination of Indonesia as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council 2019-2020. Thanks to the support, alhamdulillah Indonesia has been elected on 8 June 2018 at the Headquarters of the UN in New York.

I invite you to take the floor. (PR, Cabinet Secretariat)(RAS/AW/YM)
