President Jokowi Inspects Vaccination for Elderly and Children in Bintan Regency

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected the third dose COVID-19 vaccination (booster) for the elderly and the second dose vaccination for children held at Community Center Building, Baru City, Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province, on Tuesday (01/25).

President Jokowi expressed hope that the vaccination can protect the people from the infection of corona virus.

“We hope that the third vaccination, the booster vaccination, and the second dose vaccination will protect us all and prevent us from the spread of COVID-19, the Delta variant, and the Omicron variant,” the President said.

The Head of State mentioned that the vaccination drive is also being held in a number of locations in the Riau Islands Province beside of Bintan Regency.

“I come here to Bintan Regency and I see that vaccination is not only held here, be it the second dose or the third dose, but also in Lingga Regency, Karimun Regency, Batam City, Natuna Regency, Anambas Islands Regency, and Tanjungpinang City,” he said.

On the occasion, the Head of State also expressed his appreciation and felt proud of the high percentage vaccination rate in the province.

“I am really happy and proud of the fact that the vaccination in Riau Islands Province has achieved a very high rate. We hope that the all the people will be protected after getting vaccination,” he said.

Beside of inspection, President Jokowi also greeted participants of vaccination in Natuna Regency and Karimun Regency through video conference. In the dialogue, President Jokowi reminded that although high-rate vaccination has been achieved, it is important to accelerate the vaccination drive by involving various elements.

“Although high-rate vaccination has been achieved, I demand that elements of the Military District Command and Resort Police accelerate the vaccination drive, so all the people will be protected from COVID. I really appreciate the high-rate vaccination that has been achieved,” he remarked.
