President Jokowi, Swedish Prime Minister Hold Bilateral Meeting

On the sidelines of the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (12/14) held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, at the Europa Building, Brussels, Belgium.

On that occasion, President Jokowi said that Sweden stands as one of Indonesia’s biggest trading partners in the Nordic countries, especially in green energy development.

“I hope the sector can become a priority for Indonesia-Sweden cooperation moving forward,” the President said.

Regarding the ASEAN-European Union partnership, the President said Indonesia’s 2023 ASEAN chairmanship coincides with Sweden’s presidency in the first half of 2023.

During the meeting, the President also invited Sweden to participate in the Indo-Pacific Infrastructure Forum that will be held in Indonesia next year.

“Let’s strengthen the synergy of the ASEAN-EU relations which is equal and brings concrete benefits,” he said.

For the record, several issues addressed by the President at the meeting include investment cooperation, energy transition and green development cooperation, as well as trade cooperation. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RIF/LW)
