KUR Cluster Strengthens MSMEs to Maintain National Economic Growth, President Jokowi Says
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (12/19) stated that Indonesia has great opportunity for maintaining national economic growth, one of which is by strengthening MSMEs through the People’s Business Credit (KUR).
The President expressed his gratitude to all MSME players for utilizing the KUR, while underscoring that 39.4 million MSMEs have optimized the program.
“I really appreciate that currently there is a model of KUR cluster,” President Jokowi stated at the Handover of the KUR Cluster and the Distribution of Fund through the Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB-KUMKM) at the State Palace in Jakarta.
The President went on to say that the KUR Cluster will provide benefit for MSME players and facilitate banks and other non-bank institutions in managing loans based on business cluster.
On that occasion, President Jokowi also called on other financial institutions to get involved in developing MSMEs in Indonesia in order to evenly boost national economic growth.
Moreover, the President also expressed belief that this new model can bridge the MSME players with the off takers, while encouraging that the KUR Cluster can be carried out in all business sectors.
“The KUR Cluster is expected to be carried out in all business sectors including community plantation, community livestock, community fishery, MSME industry, and other businesses sectors that have great market potential or local featured products; so that our competitiveness will increase and we can enter the global market,” he remarked.
