Mount Padang Site is Expected To Be Tourism Regions

Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs Mohammad Nuh expected Mount Padang Megalithic Site become areas of education, tourism, and economy.

“Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs supports the research of Mount Padang Megalithic Site. Anyone who is skeptical about this research, please come to the location and prove,” said the Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs in his review at the Site location, on Wednesday (09/17/2014).

The Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs said that the research of Mount Padang Megalithic Site should be done continuously, and we should be optimistic. In this Site, he said, was contained of very high value of civilization, and it can prove that Indonesia is a country that has a high civilization.

In the research of Mount Padang Megalithic Site found rock artifacts that can generate tones (ring tone). It was not only the rock artifacts that can produce sound, but at three meters depths the newly discovered metal on September 14, 2014 was found. Besides that, the rocks that commonly used for the ceremony at 5000 years ago were also found.

“Looking at this various inventions, it signified that it is already valid we have a very high civilization,” said the Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs

All of the discoveries were from the depth of four meters, so the researchers will conduct deeper research which has the distance of eleven meters where it was estimated there was 10,000 years BC civilization. The chairman of the archaeological team of Mount Padang Megalithic Site Ali Akbar targeted that the first phase of the research can be completed on October 20, 2014, and may continue to further research.

In addition to become location of education and tourism, Mount Padang Megalithic Site is expected to provide a positive economic impact to the local citizens. On this occasion, the Vice Governor of West Java Dedi Miswar said that there will be a tourist train that connects the area such as from Sukabumi towards Cianjur approaching the Site location.

“With the tourist train around West Java which connects to the site location, it can make the Site become location of education, tourism, and can improve the economy of the community around the Site,” said Dedi. (Polhukam/DP)
