Newly Inaugurated Drinking Water Supply System to Serve 32,000 Households in Durolis

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (01/05) inaugurated Durolis SPAM (drinking water supply system) in Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan district, Rokan Hilir regency, Riau.

The system will provide drinking water supply to 32,000 households in Durolis, an abbreviation for Dumai, Rokan Hilir, and Bengkalis.

The President stated that the SPAM is built by Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing on a five-hectare plot of land with a budget of Rp396.6 billion. He expressed hope that the SPAM can serve all targeted households immediately.

“Since the system has just been inaugurated, how many percent of the water is consumed so far? It’s only 400 litre per second. We hope the system can provide drinking water to more people, to households around here,” he said while expressing hope that the newly-inaugurated SPAM can solve the problem of raw water supply in Riau, particularly in Dumai, Rokan Hilir, and Bengkalis.
