President Jokowi Sends Off Nahdlatul Ulama Fun Walk in Central Java

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Sunday (01/22) officially sent off participants of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) fun walk, which was held in Surakarta city, Central Java province.

“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially send off the fun walk to commemorate the upcoming centenary of Nahdlatul Ulama,” President Jokowi stated in his remarks.

The Head of State also expressed appreciation to the country’s largest Islamic Organization NU members for the activities and expressed hope it can improve the people’s health and make Indonesia a strong country.

“I hope all Nahdliyin members and all Indonesian citizens can be healthy with the organizing of the event. With such health, our country will be strong,” the President said.

President Jokowi also congratulated the participants and expected that they can take part in the activity well. “I will join from the start to finish line, insyaallah,” he added.

In the meantime, Chairperson of Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Yahya Cholil Staquf invited all NU members to participate in commemorating the centenary of NU.
