President Jokowi Welcomes Malaysian PM at Bogor Presidential Palace

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (01/09) received a state visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim at Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java province.
PM Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the palace at around 10.00 Western Indonesian time and was greeted by President Jokowi.
The arrival of the Malaysian leader was then followed by an official welcoming ceremony, consisting of the playing of both countries’ national anthems, 19-gun salute, and an inspection of the ranks of honor.
Afterward, the two leaders introduce their delegates. The Indonesian delegates included Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno L. P. Marsudi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, Chair of Nusantara Capital Authority Bambang Susantono, Director General for Asia Pacific and African Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdul Kadir Jaelani, and Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Hermono.
Meanwhile, among the Malaysian delegates were Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Secretary General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vice Ambassador of Malaysia to Indonesia, and Chief Minister of Selangor.
After that, President Jokowi and PM Anwar Ibrahim headed to Teratai room for a photo session and guest-book signing. Following a brief dialogue at the palace veranda, both leaders planted Hopea trees together at the palace backyard.
The two leaders then visited Bogor Botanical Garden and had a tête-à-tête at the back veranda of the palace. The tête-à-tête was followed by a bilateral meeting and a joint press statement. (RSF/UN) (DH/LW)
